I look out the kitchen door and our Pomegranate tree is proudly displaying its fruit and daring the squirrels and opossums to try to take more. In the kitchen, I have no idea how many gallons of chicken soup are prepared. The apples are gathered and I estimate at least 4 kinds of honey are on tap. My kital is cleaned and pressed. It is clear that Rosh Hashanah is is about to be present.
My wife Judy joins me in wishing each member of our Am HaYam community and their loved ones, a happy, joyful and healthy year. My fervent prayer is that this be the year that bloodshed and strife end in ארץ ישראל, that those captive are returned safely to their families and the sounds of war and battle shall not be heard.
