Congregation Am HaYam has spent a year exploring the connections between music, community, peoplehood, and spirituality with a series of special presentations by renowned artists and scholars, as well as with special classes and prayers. We now invite everyone to join us in celebrating this exploration.

The fourth and final event in our series, “The Power of Celebration in Enhancing Our Lives”  will be held LIVE!

Sunday, May 22, 2022  at Congregation Am Hayam (4839 Market St, Unit C, Ventura, CA 93003)

11:30 a.m.

Free to Attend – Registration Required – Get your Ticket Here!

The morning will be a culminating event. The event will include:

  • a Siyyum, a concluding ceremony of our year-long study,
  • lunch,
  • recognition of our sponsors
  • sharing about what the year has meant
  • live entertainment

The Rolling Steins will be our entertainers. They are well-known (particularly in Southern California) music group comprised of Cantor Mike Stein (our first session presenter) and his family. The Steins incorporate a wide range of musical styles in their performances—funk, jazz, country, blues, Israeli, hip-hop—and they often work together to write original compositions.

In addition to Cantor Stein, the group consists of his son Jared Stein, a renowned music educator who worked with Rabbi Sacks at de Toledo High School. Jared is also an accomplished musician (guitar, mandolin, and violin) and composer in his own right. He not only plays in the Nashuva Band, but has performed and recorded with such artists as Theodore Bikel, Nava Tehilla, Peter Yarrow, Moshav, Distant Cousins, and Craig Taubman. Jared’s brother Justin graduated from CSUN as a vocal performance major and is an accomplished bassist with the Nashuva Band and the Middle Eastern Jam Ensemble. Cantor Stein’s wife, Kelley, and Jared’s wife, Jamie, also often perform with the Rolling Steins.

It will be an exciting and joyous celebration!

The event is free, with ample parking – Registration is required.  Please register at EventBrite here so we can prepare to welcome everyone appropriately!.

We look forward to celebrating together!
